“With her usual witty writing and exquisite flair for characterization, Noble offers readers the second, splendid book in her Winner Takes All series. The effortless manner in which she wrote The Lie and the Lady as a separate love story while at the same time gracefully connecting it to The Game and the Governess (2014) and cleverly hinting at what is to come in the series is nothing less than brilliant.”
Booklist Starred Review

John Turner thought only of winning a bet when he swapped identities with his friend the Earl of Ashby. He didn’t wager on winning the fiery Countess of Churzy’s heart with his lies, or on falling for her in return. Publicly humiliated when she learned of the betrayal, the impoverished countess fled, and John thought Leticia was lost to him forever…until fate brings her practically to his doorstep. Can he regain her trust—and her heart—this time as himself?

Determined to make a new life for herself, Letty knows she must avoid Turner—and his maddening kisses—in order to survive. But some things are too intoxicating to be denied. If she turns her back on her dashing rogue—again—will she lose her chance at love forever?

The Game and the Governess was dubbed a “winning novel, complete with rich characters and a multi-dimensional plotline” by Publishers Weekly (starred review), a “delicious treat” by Bookpage, “Immensely entertaining and eminently satisfying” by Booklist (starred review), and RT Reviews (four star HOT) promised “charming characters will sweep readers away into the story”.  Second in the captivating Winner Takes All series, THE LIE AND THE LADY is “nothing less than brilliant” (Booklist starred review) and will reward readers as the perfect literary escape.

About The Game and the Governess:

Trading Places meets Pride and Prejudice in this sexy, saucy romance—first in a new series from the author of YouTube sensation The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.

Three friends. One Wager. Winner takes all.

The Earl—‘Lucky Ned’ Ashby. Pompous, preening, certain that he is beloved by everyone.
The Miller—John Turner. Proud, forced to work as the Earl’s secretary, their relationship growing ever more strained.
The Doctor—Rhys Gray. Practical, peace-loving, but caught in the middle of two warring friends.

Their wager is simple: By trading places with John Turner and convincing someone to fall in love with him, Ned plans to prove it’s him the world adores, not his money. Turner plans to prove him wrong.

But no one planned on Phoebe Baker, the unassuming governess who would fall into their trap, and turn everything on its head…

Three best friends make a life-changing bet in the first book in a witty, sexy new Regency trilogy from acclaimed author Kate Noble, writer of the wildly popular Emmy award–winning web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.

Yummy Addictions by Belle Davis

Yummy Addictions is Book 1 in a sinfully decadent “Yummy” trilogy by Belle Davis. I recommend getting all three books and then reading them in order. Each succeeding book picks up right where the previous one left off. So to avoid cliffhanger frustration – I think this is the best way to go. After devouring my Book 1 review copy, I had to snatch up the next two books. I found all three books to be consistently good. This is a highly erotic romance between two people that really pulls you in. I appreciate that the dialogue wasn’t stilted or unnatural – as I find a lot of dialogue in erotica can be. There are no threesomes or BDSM in Yummy Addictions but it most definitely brings the heat.

Yummy Addictions is delicious and after reading each book I only want more. It’s a wonderful bit of escapism and brain candy. After having such a humiliating experience with her ex-husband, Val travels to Paris and meets the man of her dreams. I liked both characters. I wasn’t bothered by Jason’s jealousy and possessiveness over Val because he never lashes out at her in any way or became violent with her. Yummy Addictions is a lot of fun, and never lets up on the sexiness for one minute. After reading Yummy Addictions, I am eager to read more by Belle Davis.

The Taming of the Billionaire by Jessica Clare - Fresh Fiction review

The New York Times bestselling author of The Billionaire and the Virgin returns with a tale of Shakespearean-style seduction…

Edie’s an overbearing cat behaviorist who’s not big on people. Magnus is a newly-rich game developer who likes to be in control. When the two of them meet at Gretchen and Hunter’s masquerade engagement party, the loathing is mutual. Unfortunately for them—and everyone else—they’re in the wedding party together and must deal with each other for the next few months.<br />

But when Magnus’s younger brother falls for Edie’s sister, he begs for his brother’s help in concocting a plan to win her over. If Magnus can keep the prickly Edie occupied, his brother will have time to woo Edie’s sister. Of course, Magnus isn’t interested in the slightest, but Edie is…intriguing. And stubborn. And smart. And sexy. And they might have more in common than they thought.

Before long, it becomes a challenge between the two of them to see who will be tamed first. But how’s Edie going to react when she finds out that Magnus is using her? And how’s Magnus going to handle the fact that he’s fallen for a cat lady?

Excerpt from my review originally posted on the website Fresh Fiction:

"Although Edie may appear shrewish to some people, she has a big heart where cats are concerned and she is always thinking of her flakey sister. Likewise, Magnus turns out to be more than what he first appears to be. I love how they get to know and like each other and appreciate their strengths. I like how they have more in common they think - including a tendency to be overindulgent when it comes to their siblings. Magnus becomes more likable over the course of the book as his feelings for Edie grow. "

Claiming His Secret Son by Olivia Gates

I got the book directly from the author for an honest review. LOVE her books :)

I love Olivia Gates's books and have enjoyed this series so far but was a little anxious about reading this book. Richard Graves aka Cobra is a complex hero. The glimpses of him in previous books have not made him likable - to say the least. His past was sketchy and the side he chose to show to others was not warm and fuzzy. I like what Olivia Gates has done with him. His past is fully revealed in this story and he actually becomes somewhat of a sympathetic character. The heroine is a woman from his past and their history is very complicated. Isabella is a wonderful heroine. Like Richard, he is a complicated character and I liked her a lot. She's survived difficult circumstances. As with other books by Olivia Gates, Claiming His Secret Son is filled with super steamy sex scenes and strong emotions. The intensity and passion make this a compelling story that is hard to put down.

Also - props to whoever chose the cover model because, as a fan of this series - he is spot on for how I pictured the character.
